Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe (1886 - 1969)
Ludwig Mies was born in Aachen, Germany, on March 27, 1886, the son of a master stonemason. (He added Rohe, his mother's maiden name, and the Dutch form van der when he had established himself as an architect.) Although he had no formal training in architecture, he learned craftsmanship from his father and worked in architectural offices. In 1927 he was catapulted into the international limelight after designing and patenting his famous steel-tubular cantilevered chair, the 'M20 Chair' compact, light weight and yet elegant its space saving comfort was immediately a worldwide success. |

What is Semi-Aniline Leather?
Semi-Aniline leather is pure aniline leather that has a small amount of pigment or clear finish thus allowing the natural characteristics of the hide to still show through while offering some of the benefits of color consistency and increased wearability.
Care ?
* Dust on a weekly basis with a soft cloth or vacuum with a soft brush.
* If you spill something on your furniture, use a damp cloth to immediately dab off any excess. Do not rub. Do not use excess water, as water staining can occur.
* A damp cloth and a very mild soap solution can be used to remove every-day grime and dirt.
* Do not use household cleaning products.
* If you use a recommended semi-aniline leather-cleaning product, always pay attention to the instructions and test on an inconspicuous area first.
* A recommended semi-aniline leather protection cream can be applied to offer more protection against staining and scratching but this may alter the colour of the leather.
