Charles Eames Eiffel Chair "reproduced to the style of the original designer"
In the classic Eames Eiffel Plastic Side Chair and Armchair (1950)-the first industrially manufactured fibre-flass chairs-the Eameses honed two techniques with which they had been grappling for years: the use of a bent and welded wire base and a sculpted plastic shell seat. The results are two supremely comfortable and timeless chairs that are so adored, they are easily recognized by the casual handles of "shell chair" and "eiffel chair." the molded shell seats have a high, flexible back, a deep seat pocket and a waterfall seat edge to promote seating for extended periods of time. For residential and commercial use. Adjustable pod feet level on uneven surfaces.

Charles Eames is one of the most important designers of the 20th century. His colleagues were Harry Bertoia, Eero Saarinen, Florence Knoll and Ray Kaiser whom he married in 1941. The Eames collaborated with Saarinen on a molded-plywood chair that won two prizes in 1940. In 1946, Eames was given MOMA’s first one man’s show.
Charles and Ray’s interest in new techniques led them to experiment with fiberglass reinforced plastics with a one-piece fiberglass-shell chair, which was much admired. They worked closely with the manufacturer Herman Miller throughout the fifties and sixties.
